Tui Hawke

Urutapu Tuakana

Ngāti Whatua, Ngāti Porou
Kia ora e te whānau, ko Tui Hawke toku ingoa. My main role and responsibility in Urutapu is being a Tuakana for our current roopu. I am passionate about helping our kohine reach their potential and growing into their own unique leadership styles. Program design, evaluation, communications and pastoral care of our kohine are all apart of the mahi but the magic happens during Noho when we have 9 fierce, intelligent, passionate and driven young Māori women in the same room. I love my nans rewana bread, being on the moana and learning about indigenous cultural knowledge. Urutapu is an awesome opportunity for the young women who are chosen for the program and also for those who have an opportunity to help it grow.
